Description
Six Piston 6S Calipers. Baer’s 6S 6-Piston calipers were engineered with staggered size, opposing, stainless steel pistons to provide clamping force on both sides for superior braking force with minimum pad taper. The monoblock caliper is machined from US made 2618 aluminum forgings to ensure outstanding strength and light weight. The caliper is then completed in a durable silver powder coated finish to provide superior good looks and excellent corrosion resistance.
Drilled and Slotted Rotors. Baer’s 15-inch drilled and slotted rotors are engineered to clean the brake pad surface, wipe away water, and debris to prevent gas build-up that forms between the pad and the disc to improve the initial bite of the brake pads. Manufactured 100% in the USA, these Rotors feature a 2-piece construction, with a separate hat and rotor connected by stainless NAS (National Aerospace Standard) bolts. The rotors are manufactured from mill-balanced cast steel, carefully finished to prevent vibration and noise, with a protective coating of zinc for rust prevention. The hats are machined from 6061 T-6 Billet aluminum with a black anodized finish, lowering the overall rotor weight and adding corrosion resistance.
Street Brake Pads. The included D1247 style, ceramic compound street brake pads offer smooth and dependable stopping power in light to moderate conditions with low noise and dust levels. Please note that these Street Pads are not suited for track use. Race compound pads are available separately.
Direct Bolt-on Upgrade. Baer designed their Extreme Plus Big Brake Kit to be a direct bolt-on replacement upgrade for your S197 Mustang’s factory caliper and rotors. Using basic hand tools, this Big Brake Kit can be install in about 3-4 hours with no modifications being required.
Application. This Baer Extreme Plus Front Big Brake Kit with Silver Calipers is specifically designed to fit 2005-2014 Ford Mustangs with OE spindles and hubs. For use with 19-inch and larger wheels.
